Description

(Walt Disney Studios, 1938) Original production drawing featuring Stan Laurel from the 'Simple Simon Goes the Pie Man' segment of Mother Goose Goes Hollywood, showing him holding his fishing pole. Accomplished in graphite and colored pencil on untrimmed 12 x 10 animation paper, marked "235" in the lower corner. Total image measures 9.75 x 7.5. In fine condition, with a tiny tear to the right edge. Featuring appearances by the likes of the Marx Brothers, Clark Gable, Spencer Tracy, Laurel and Hardy, W. C. Fields, and many others, the cartoon was nominated for an Academy Award for Best Animated Short, but lost to Disney's own Ferdinand The Bull.
