Five items signed by great jazz clarinetist Benny Goodman: a 1955 personal check made payable to the Rockrimmon Country Club for $770, signed "Benny Goodman," accompanied by a Rockrimmon Country Club bullion blazer patch; a glossy 8 x 10 photo of Goodman with his clarinet, signed in black felt tip; two personal checks made payable to the District Director of Internal Revenue (1956) and the Internal Revenue Service (1958) for massive amounts—$12,386.04 and $74,200—both signed "Benny Goodman"; and a 1956 personal check made payable to the law firm of Roseman, Goldmark, Colin & Kaye for $10,336.01, signed "Benny Goodman." Includes a 1960 letter from the firm to Goodman, explaining the government's consideration of a settlement for his 1955-59 taxes, and referring to a claim by the estate of Glen Miller. In fine condition.
