TLS, one page, 8 x 10.5, personal Bateman's letterhead, October 4, 1926. Letter to N. F. Grant of the Daily Telegraph, in part: "Thank you very much for your letter of the 1st, but I'm afraid that I can't be of service to you on the lines that you suggest. Sir Percy Fitzpatrick also made the same suggestion, and I explained to him why, in my own opinion, a message from me would be superfluous." In fine condition, with faint toning over the right half of the letter.
