Original vintage glossy 10 x 8 photo of Queen Elizabeth II conversing with the Duchess of Windsor on May 19, 1972, with Prince Philip pictured in the background. Reverse bears a Keystone copyright stamp and an affixed caption indicating that "the Queen, Prince Philip and Prince Charles yesterday called on the Duke and Duchess of Windsor at their home in Paris. The Duke was forbidden by his doctors to move downstairs. But he received the Royal visitors in his first floor sitting room after they had tea with the Duchess in the ground-floor library." In fine condition. In late 1971, the Duke of Windsor, a smoker from an early age, was diagnosed with throat cancer and underwent cobalt therapy. On May 28, 1972, a little over a week after the royal visit, the Duke died at his home in Paris, only a month shy of his 78th birthday.
