Handwritten Western Union telegram, one page, 8 x 7, September 12, 1925. Dempsey sends a telegram to Dayton, Ohio, promoter Frank Mantel. In full: “Date too soon impossible before Oct. First.” Double-matted and framed with an image of Dempsey to an overall size of 16 x 22. A central vertical fold, uniform toning, and expected notations, otherwise fine condition.
