Josephine Baker

African-American expatriate singer and dancer (1906–1975), nicknamed the “Black Venus,” who became one of the greatest sensations of Jazz-Age Paris. Vintage glossy 7 x 9.5 photo of Baker in soft light, signed and inscribed vertically in fountain pen in French and signed “Josephine 1947.” In very good condition, with single tack hole to horizontal edges, scattered light creases and surface marks, a bit of light contrast to portion of inscription, and signature a shade light, but completely legible. Pre-certified PSA/DNA and RRAuction COA.
