Businessman (1818–1881) who cofounded the famous express firm Wells, Fargo & Co., served as president of American Express, and later directed the New York Central and Northern Pacific Railways. Handsomely engraved DS, signed “Wm. G. Fargo,” one page, both sides, 12 x 9.5, January 29, 1869. A certificate for five shares of stock in the American Merchants Union Express Company issued to Morris Bradley of Westport, Connecticut. Stock certificate for fifty shares.
