Adams free franked envelope panel, addressed in his hand to fellow Signer Benjamin Rush

Envelope panel, 5.5 x 3.25, dated “Quincy, Jany 26, 1810,” and addressed in Adams’ hand to “Dr. Benjamin Rush, Philadelphia, J. Adams,” and franked along the right edge “Free.” In fine condition, with a bit of scattered light soiling and a few wrinkles but generally extremely clean. Like Adams, Rush was a Signer of the Declaration of Independence; also a physician and surgeon general of the Continental Army, he established the first free dispensary in the US.
