War-dated TLS, one page, 6 x 8, Allied forces Headquarters letterhead, August 17, 1943. A letter of thanks for a gift of a four-leaf clover. In part, 'I appreciate the spirit which prompts you to send the...four leafed clover. I am keeping one for myself as you suggest and will hand the others to Generals Alexander, Patton and Montgomery.' In fine condition, with light overall toning, some scattered light soiling and a bisecting horizontal mailing fold. Accompanied by the original mailing envelope.
