The Alexander McQueen Archive of Ruti Danan
Live auction February 22, 2020
British fashion genius Lee Alexander McQueen: famed designer and creator whose boundless vision propelled fashion forward from the mid-nineties with a game-changing dropped waistline, historically referenced clothing, and cinematic sense of showmanship. Offered by RR Auction on February 22, 2020, is this 74-lot capsule archive of rare early work–including garments handsewn by McQueen himself, including several displayed at the MET and V&A, original patterns, and sketches from three of his earliest collections: Highland Rape, The Hunger, and Dante–carefully conserved by former head of McQueen studio and friend, Ruti Danan.
