Description
Early partly-printed DS filled out entirely in the hand of John Quincy Adams, endorsed “J. Q. Adams" on the reverse, one page, 8 x 6.75, November 7, 1791. An order issued to the sheriff of Lincoln County, Massachusetts, commanding him to bring Nathaniel Hall of Pittston "before Our Justices of Our Court of Common Pleas…to answer unto William Coolidge of Boston" concerning a debt. Docketed and endorsed on the reverse as a witness by John Quincy Adams. In very good to fine condition, with toning and splitting to the folds, and chipping to the top edge. Adams had been admitted to the Massachusetts bar in 1791, and began practicing law in Boston. An impressively early document filled out in full by the future president.
