Manuscript DS, signed “George R,” one page both sides, 11 x 17.5, June 17, 1758. Payment order issued to "Henry Fox, Paymaster General of our Guards Garrisons and Land Forces," in part: "Whereas Our Parliament of Great Britain have thought fit to make Provision of Half Pay to the reduced Officers of Our Land Forces and Marines for this Current Year 1758, Our Will and Pleasure is, And We do hereby declare, that this Establishment of Half Pay to the said Reduced Officers who are entitled to receive the same, Do Commence & take Place from the Twenty fifth day of December last inclusive." Prominently signed at the head by King George III, and countersigned at the conclusion by three officials. In very good to fine condition, with fold splits, edge chips, and silking to both sides of the central horizontal fold.
