Description
American actor-singer (1895-1969) who, after starring in a number of early screen musicals, appeared in the 1931 horror classic Frankenstein as Victor Moritz. Vintage matte-finish 10.25 x 13 photo of Boles in near-profile, signed and inscribed in fountain pen, "To Mr. Yuncker—Thank you for having introduced me to the Bechstein—Cordially—John Boles—1931.” In fine condition, with trimmed edge and some light surface residue to lower left. Bechstein is a German pianomaker; Boles was an accomplished pianist, which was sometimes incorporated into his roles.
