I have put them out in the open air where they can mature in a natural way. The perithecia are well developed, I found a few asci and some imperfect asci spores. So I think within a few weeks I will find perfectly developed spores. I am trying to develop the hearts…I am inclined to think that it is a bacterial disease. These may be related to a disease on cotton starks, which I am going to investigate as soon as I can get out in the field.
