TLS signed “R. E. Byrd,” one page, 8.5 x 11, Byrd Antarctic Expedition letterhead, March 10, 1928. Letter to Rev. Cornelius Greenway, in part: "It is kind of you to invite me to take dinner with you on the night I lecture but I regret to tell you I cannot do so. The preparations for our Antarctic expedition are taking a great deal of time, and I am working to the very high limit of my endurance and every hour counts…there are only twenty-four hours in the day and I have to take advantage of every minute I can. You see I have $500,000 to raise for this expedition." In fine condition.
