He is perhaps best known for his debut novel Gli indifferenti, for the existential novel Il disprezzo (turned into Jean-Luc Godard's 1963 film Contempt), and for the anti-fascist novel Il Conformista (the basis for Bernardo Bertolucci's 1970 film The Conformist). Scarce glossy 7 x 9.5 profile photo of Moravia looking down from a balcony, signed and inscribed in the lower border in blue ballpoint, "Alla Galleria Libro cordialmente, Alberto Moravia.” Reverse bears a Bosio credit stamp. In very good condition, with scattered light creasing, overall scuffing, and light staining to the left edge.
