An original KL brand dress form/dummy used by Alexander McQueen to create collections up to and including "Highland Rape." This dress form was rescued by Ruti Danan when McQueen was locked out of his Farringdon Studios due to unpaid rent.
Asexplainedby Ruti, Lee McQueen would have cut garments directly on the form without patterns which was only done by confident pattern-cutters and tailors, (like this later photo showing him workingon a similar forminpreparationfortheDante collection).The dummy would have been used for dresses and tailoring for McQueens first shows SS 1994 "Nihilism", AW 1994"Banshee", SS 1995 "The Birds" and AW 1995 "Highland Rape".
