The famous Kennedy "Teas" of 1952—rare printed invitation for one of the events honoring JFK's mother, Rose, in Quincy, Mass. on June 1, 1952, featuring the text: "Tea and Reception in honor of Mrs. Joseph P. Kennedy and her son Congressman John F. Kennedy." A key to Kennedy's victory over Henry Cabot Lodge for the Mass. Senate seat in 1952 were these 'teas' where up to 5,000 women came dressed up to meet JFK, his mother, and his three sisters Jean, Pat, and Eunice who all stood on line for hours to shake the hands of every woman who attended these events. JFK was on crutches in many of these "teas."
