Your heart is close to mine. You and your friends you give a helping hand to me in my inexpressible mourning. I am the outcast of all the proscriptions. Death also is an exile. Alas!" In fine condition. Victor Hugo’s wife, Adele Foucher, died in August 27, 1868. Hugo, banished from France, was unable to attend her funeral in Villequier, where she was interred with their daughter Leopoldine.
