Taylor, Oswego, N.Y.," franked in the upper right, "free, S. A. Douglas"; a Civil War-dated Riggs & Co. bank check, 7.25 x 2.75, filled out and signed by Gideon Welles, dated May 29, 1861; a Riggs & Co. bank check, filled out in another hand and signed by William H. Seward, dated July 31, 1866; and original carte-de-visites of Winfield Scott and George Meade, both approximately 2.5 x 4, with the former published by J. Gurney & Son of New York, and the latter published by E & H. T. Anthony of New York. In overall fine condition.
