Description

Uncommon vintage yellow Led Zeppelin t-shirt sold at their five-show showcase at Earls Court Arena in London in May 1975. The short-sleeve 100% cotton shirt, size small, features a design of the poster used for the concert series: the band logo in bold red-and-yellow lettering above four men riding a small rail service reading "Physical Rocket.” In very good to fine condition, with some light mottled staining to the left shoulder and collar, and some peeling to lower right corner of design. Accompanied by a certificate of authenticity from Tracks.

In celebration of the release of their sixth album, Physical Graffiti, Led Zeppelin arranged a five-night residency at Earls Court from May 17-25, 1975, with the first two shows added due to unprecedented public demand. These were the only Led Zeppelin concerts in the country in this year, and so the events sold out their entire run of 85,000 tickets. To help promote the concerts, promoter Mel Bush and manager Peter Grant used advertisements which displayed a train, dubbed the 'Zeppelin Express,' linked to Earls Court via the Inter City train services of British Rail.
